The classic route

The ideal itinerary for a first discovery: the three flagship cities linked by high-speed train.

Day 1

Arrival in Tashkent

Check-in, a tour of the modern city centre and first look at the monumental metro.

Day 2

Tashkent → Samarkand

Afrosiyob train journey (2h15). Afternoon visits: Registan Square at the end of the day.

Days 3-4

Samarkand

Shah-i-Zinda, the Gur-e-Amir mausoleum, the Ulugh Beg Observatory and Siab Bazaar.

Day 5

Samarkand → Bukhara

Train journey (1h30). First stroll through the old town at sunset.

Day 6

Bukhara

Full tour of the old town: the Ark, the Kalon Minaret, the Lyabi-Hauz pools.

Day 7

Back to Tashkent

Domestic flight or day train, then return flight home.

Add Khiva and a crossing of the Kyzylkum desert for a more complete picture of the country.

Day 1

Arrival in Tashkent

City tour and Chorsu Bazaar.

Tashkent → Khiva

Direct domestic flight (1h30) to Khiva, at the gates of the desert.

Days 3-4

Khiva

Discover Itchan Kala and its ramparts, then drive to Bukhara via the Kyzylkum desert (about 6h).

Days 5-6

Bukhara

In-depth visit of the old town and its craft workshops.

Day 7

Bukhara → Samarkand

Train journey, check-in and a first look at the illuminated Registan.

Days 8-9

Samarkand

Full tour of the city, with a free day to wander the bazaars and ceramics workshops.

Day 10

Back to Tashkent, then home

Fast train to Tashkent, connecting to the return flight.

For travellers who want to take their time: add the Fergana Valley and the Nuratau mountains, with a night spent with a local family.

Days 1-2

Tashkent, then the Fergana Valley

Discover the capital, then drive to Fergana via the Kamchik Pass: silk workshops in Margilan, ceramics in Rishtan.

Back to Tashkent

Return journey and a free day in the capital.
